Curtis Lake’s Care Ministry provides one-on-one emotional and spiritual support for people who are hurting or going through a difficult time in life. Our team of trained Care Ministers is available to care, listen, and share God’s love and to help people get through the pain, confusion, stress, or loneliness they may be experiencing.
The team also responds to every prayer request that our attenders share on weekly communication cards with a phone call, email or mail. Care Ministers are also available after every church service by the auditorium doors to the right of the stage.
There are several ways to connect with a Care Minister:
- Share a prayer request on your communication card. A Care Minister will follow up with you, if requested.
- Call the church office at (207) 324-0652. You’ll be connected to a Care Minister, if one is available. If we aren’t available, leave a message and a Care Minister will call you back.
- E-mail one of our Care Ministry team leaders: Terry Schaefer or Jane Schaefer . (Click a name to send an e-mail now)
Care Ministers are carefully selected. They have demonstrated a gift for caregiving. Caregivers are Ministry Partners and volunteers who have received 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spiritual care.
When commissioning is completed, we will have 27 Care Ministers. We have 3 Leader Coordinators and 1 Team Leader. Total all together will be 31 within the Care Ministry.
Training to become a Care Minister is offered twice a year. We will host information sessions, which will be announced at every church service beginning 3 weeks prior. When attending one of these 10 -15 minute information sessions you will be given a brief description of the ministry. You will also be given an information sheet that will go over in detail what is necessary to become a Care Minister at Curtis Lake Church. The information sessions will also include how to sign up for the ministry and who to contact with any questions they may have about the ministry.
